Eliza Schuchovski's Panoramic House is a triumph of design, where the lush Brazilian landscape meets cutting-edge architectural innovation. The residence, nestled in the Atlantic Forest and overlooking the sea, is a celebration of family, nature, and breathtaking views. Schuchovski's design is distinguished by its dramatic triangular cantilevers, including a pool that juts out towards the sea and a main suite that offers unparalleled vistas.
The design's uniqueness lies in its parametric approach, tailored to the residents' needs and the terrain's specificities. The house's volumetrics, with its cantilevers and angles, not only enhances the views but also underscores the building's sustainability. Energy-efficient solutions and minimal resource use are among the project's sustainable highlights, setting it apart in the realm of modern architecture.
Material selection was pivotal in infusing the Panoramic House with a Brazilian soul. Natural elements, textures, and colors were meticulously chosen to emphasize the project's core attributes: integration with the environment, scenic views exploitation, and technological prowess. The project embodies Brazilian identity by reflecting the country's origins and diversity through architecture that resonates with the owners' lifestyle and mindset.
Technically, the house adheres to Brazil's common construction practices, with concrete slabs, beams, and masonry walls. However, it stands out with large spans and cantilevers, employing prestressed slabs for spacious interiors and expansive openings. The swimming pool, positioned at the property's edge, presented a significant structural challenge, ingeniously resolved by treating it as a separate system with an expansion joint.
The house's layout is divided into three main areas: Social, Intimate, and Service. These sectors are interconnected through a mezzanine, highlighted by a large spiral staircase sculpture. The living areas offer warmth and well-being, with views that capture the beach, forest, and cityscape. The Panoramic House, completed over three and a half years, stands as a remarkable achievement in Brava Beach, Itajaí, Santa Catarina, Brazil.
Eliza Schuchovski's Panoramic House is more than just a residence; it's a lifestyle choice for a family seeking seaside serenity. It's a space where Brazilian essence, panoramic sea views, and eco-friendly construction coalesce to create a unique living experience. The house, camouflaged to accentuate the landscapes, boasts contemporary architecture with pure elements and horizontal lines, punctuated by distinctive points. Through parametricism, the Panoramic House achieves originality and authenticity, rightfully earning its Golden A' Design Award.
The accolade of the Golden A' Design Award in 2024 celebrates Panoramic House as a marvel of design, a trendsetter that elevates art, science, and technology. This prestigious recognition is a nod to Eliza Schuchovski's genius and the house's significant impact on the world of architecture.
